Treatstock

Treatstock is a 3D printing network, where 3D designers and print services can meet to produce 3D printed products. The site unites both a 3D printing marketplace and an online platform for 3D printing services, allowing distributed manufacturing.
Business model
The Treatstock site combines digital 3D models uploaded by designers and a list of print services added by 3D printer owners. Customers are able to search for 3D models and appropriate 3D printers for printing and the purchasing of the items. All necessary services are integrating, eliminating the need to seek outside services, to get a model and print a product. Scott Grunewald of 3dprint wrote "Think of Treatstock as Shapeways mixed with a dash of Thingiverse with some 3D Hubs thrown in for good measure. The company clearly wants to cut out all of the various stops that someone would typically need to take to get a 3D model printed and enable them to do it all under the same roof."
3D modelers and CAD engineers may upload their digital objects for any function, such as mechanisms, details, spare parts, home goods, or toys. Treatstock offers only a commercial license for designers, although products can be free, with zero cost. Each printed 3D model is bought separately each time it is used.
Any owner of desktop 3D printers may become an authorized print service. The network of print services makes distributed manufacturing possible, so delivery time for printing 3D models is based on the closest print service to the customer. Tutorials are available for for both designers and print services.
