Expansion

It was announced that in 2008, there will be major changes to the estate due to it becoming run down. There will be a number of changes to the area, including planting of new trees, extensive work on the playing fields, new bins and also new CCTV will be in operation around the estate, as with Gillars Green Estate, the estates nearest neighbour.

One councillor, Geoff Pryce, described the estate as the 'highlight of eccleston' in 2005, which shows that it is very popular with the people of St.Helens.

The sensgov.av company, Etek, once considered moving their headquarters to the former triplex factor site, but local councillors rejected the move, saying that it would cause a lot of controversy over plans to bring in immigrants from china.

The Triplex factor is now being knocked down in 2008 and the building of a new housing estate, 'Knowsley Road Estate' will be built there in 2010, due to be next to the saints ground, which in 2011 will also become a new private estate.

The 'Knowsley Road estate' will be part of Trapwood Close estate if plans to build the leading road to the estate on 'The Avenue' which is part of Trapwood Close Estate, but the plans are still vague and may not go ahead if local people object, which councillors believe will be the best move.
