Toontown Rewritten

Toontown Rewritten (abbreviated "TTR") is a fan-made game aimed at fans who have previously played the massively multiplayer online role-playing game Toontown Online before its closure on September 19, 2013. Toontown Rewritten entered Alpha mode on October 28, 2013 and was sent into Closed-Beta in April 2014. The game is currently in Open-Beta. The creators of Toontown Rewritten are the former and current owners of Toonbook. Toonbook is a Facebook for old and new toons. Toonbook is designed to be family friendly. No personal information is sent to the creators or the public. In Toontown Rewritten, the developers have made it clear that no Toontown Rewritten Staff Member will ever ask a member for his password or any personal information. Toontown Rewritten entered Semi-Open Beta on July 2, 2014. The PlayLine and PlayTime were added to allow players to enjoy Toontown Rewritten without waiting for Open Testing. The Playline puts the member in a "line" of players and displays how long he has before he can enter Toontown Rewritten. The PlayTime, however, lets him reserve a specific time and date that he will enter Toontown Rewritten. Other competitors to remake Toontown online are Toontown House, and Toontown Infinite.
There are 25 members of the Toontown Rewritten Staff. Most of the higher ranking developers are still in high school. As said on the Toontown Rewritten Website, "We're a bunch of nostalgic high school and college students (For the most part, anyway) hoping to bring life back into this game that we've all kept close to our hearts for all of these years." The project leader is 16 year old high school student named Joey Ziolkowski.
Bloomberg also interviewed Jesse Schell, the executive who supervised the design of the original game. “I can’t believe what they’ve been able to achieve,” Schell said, “It’s great that they love the game so much.”
Disney's Pixies and Disney's Pirates Online also closed on September 19, 2013 along with Disney's Toontown Online. Pirates Online fans as well are remaking the game,go to click here to check out the "Pirates Online Rewritten" homepage.
