Tonetta Chester

Tonetta Chester is an American author and businesswoman. In addition to creating her own publishing company, TC Publishing & Consulting, she has written five urban fiction books. Her second book, Sunshine through Darkness, will be released in summer 2010.
Early Life and South Florida Charmz, Inc.
Tonetta Chester was born on June 18, 1981 in Miami, FL to Tony Chester and Elayne Jones. While attending Charles W. Flanagan High School in Pembroke Pines, Florida, Chester became pregnant with her first child. After graduating high school, Chester attended Miami Dade College, where she majored in psychology.
In 2001, inspired by her struggles as a teen mother, Chester created South Florida Charmz, Inc. “a non-profit organization that allows young women to be educated on real life situations.” SFC’s services are aimed toward young girls aged 11-16 in the Miami area, using communication and honesty as tools for empowerment and teen pregnancy prevention.
Chester currently resides in Georgia with her daughter.
Writing career
After the death of her better half, Jerriff Harper, Chester began writing daily journal entries, which eventually served as the ending for her first novel, Surviving the Darkest Days. The sequel, Sunshine through Darkness, continues to follow protagonist Neshela Jones through her life struggles.
Chester is currently working on another unrelated novel, Death of a Legend.
Chester’s style can be categorized as urban fiction, focusing on the race and culture of African-American life in metropolitan areas, specifically Miami and New Jersey. However, Chester incorporates many universal themes across fiction, such as loss, acceptance, love, and hardship.
Business Ventures
In 2008, Chester started her own publishing and consulting company, TC Publishing and Consulting. According to the company, its goal is to “produce the highest quality product while providing excellent service to our authors, readers, and venders. “ All of Chester’s books following Surviving the Darkest Days will be published under TC Publishing and Consulting. “
In 2009, Chester created Swift Tax Solutions, an income tax preparation company that provides “business services, tax preparation and income tax consulting for individuals, couples, families and small business owners. Our continuing mission is to serve our clients by providing the highest level of expertise and professionalism possible. Chester is currently the C.E.O. of the company.
