Tom Lonsdale

Tom Lonsdale, or Thomas Lonsdale, (born 1949), is a noted veterinarian and writer, located in Australia.
Education and professional life
Lonsdale graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine from the Royal Veterinary College, part of the University of London, in 1972, and the same year was admitted as a member of Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons After working as a veterinarian in England and Western Australia, Lonsdale established a veterinary practice in the western suburbs of Sydney, at which he still practices.
Research interests
For many years, Lonsdale has researched periodontitis in small animals, as well as the role that nutrition plays in such disease. Lonsdale advocates a diet of raw meaty bones, otherwise known as raw feeding, for small animals, and is a critic of the corporate pet food industry.

Over two decades, Lonsdale has been a frequent media commentator on veterinary issues, in both the electronic and print media, and in particular on the issues of pet nutrition and the influence of the pet food industry.
