Timothy Judd (born February 24, 1977 in West Palm Beach, Florida) is an American actor and writer known for winning Houston Space Center's "Name the Shuttle Contest," christening the orbiter Space Shuttle Independence. Early life, education, and career Judd graduated from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina with a degree in Business Administration. As a cadet, he walked over 600 tours, became a member of The Summerall Guards and earned Dean's List for academic excellence. In 2006, Judd volunteered as a NASA Human Test Subject featured by Popular Science as one of the "Worst Jobs in Science." The job entailed spinning in a human centrifuge for an hour a day with forces reaching two and a half G's. He earned enough from the research study to move to Los Angeles and pursue a career in film and television. In 2007, Judd appeared on the Tyra Banks Show. He is currently a writing student at Lesley University.
