TimberTech

TimberTech is a low maintenance decking, railing, and fencing manufacturer. Located in Wilmington, Ohio, TimberTech's product lineup includes wood-composite, capped composite and PVC decking, railing, deck lighting elements, under deck drainage systems and hidden fastener installation systems. TimberTech was started in 1996, one year after their parent company, the Crane Group, invested in a new wood/plastic blending system. TimberTech now sells internationally, with products available in more than 30 countries outside of the U.S. and Canada.
Mergers and Acquisitions
In August 2012, Timbertech, a subsidiary of the Crane Group, was acquired by CPG International (owner of Azek Building Products) from Crane.
Competitors
TimberTech's competitors in the composite decking industry include Trex, Azek, Fiberon, Geodeck, AERT, and Evergrain, among others.
Potential Lawsuit
An investigation is underway to determine if a class action lawsuit is warranted due to poor quality products and sub par customer service. Issues range from fading of the product to mold problems. A class action lawsuit was filed against TimberTech and CPG International, Inc. (who bought TimberTech in 2012) in June 2014.
