Tim Kabat is the 42nd mayor of La Crosse, Wisconsin. He is the former executive director of Down Town Main Street Inc in La Crosse and a former manager of the cities economic development board. Early life and education Kabat graduated from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 1988 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. Attending graduated school at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, in 1992 Kabat received his Masters in Urban and Regional Planning. Prior to becoming mayor in 2013, Kabak worked as the Executive Director of Downtown Main Street Inc, while also working as an associate lecturer at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Kabat had also worked for five years as Sauk County planning and zoning administrator. 2013 election In April 2013, Kabat defeated Douglas Farmer, 66% to 34%.
