The Tim Armstrong band was formed in 1986 in Hamilton, New Zealand, After Tim Armstrong left waikato band The Politicians, ( who originally where a ska rock originals band formed in 1981 in Tokoroa), by 1986 they had become a club covers band performing mostly in Hamilton and Auckland. The members are Tim Armstong (born 10th February 1961) Guitar and lead vocals. Don McClumpha(Bass and vocals) and Nigel Sanderson (Drums). Past members include: Alan Grady, Paul Alderton, Campbell Hapi, Darryn Karaitiana. The Tim Armstrong band has been known at various times as Tim Armstrong and the Kiwibandits. These days the Tim Armstrong band perfoms mostly classic covers with a few originals thrown in.
