History
In 1980 along with some of the employees from Angraves, Thurmaston, Thurmaston Progressive Working Mens Club F.C. was formed. From the start the team had both a first and reserves and played on Garden Street Recreational Ground in the village playing in the City League.
The club then moved to Elizabeth Park in 1986 where they changed the name to Thurmaston Town FC and played for two seasons. Due to a problem with the showers the club then had to move to the rear of the DCE factory on Humberstone Lane and renamed the Club Thurmaston DCE FC and played there for three seasons.
For the 1991-92 season they had to move to Roundhill and then in 1992-93 amalgamated with another club before moving back to the rear of the DCE factory where we remained for three seasons. In 1996 the club was able to move back to Elizabeth Park, following the redevelopment of the site, they changed the name back to Thurmaston Town FC and has remained the clubs home ground ever since.
In 1998-99 the club was promoted into the Senior League and secured there first major sponsor, Charles Street Buildings and along with their support were able to put up floodlighting on the pitch. They continue to be a major sponsor of the club to this day.
Before the start of 2009-10 season, the old committee stepped down and a new one was formed with the introduction of Stu Dealey and Robert Evans who arrived from newly promoted side Asfordby Amateurs. Despite winning the league title that season, at the end of it decided to move to Hinckley F.C. as ground requirements dictated that Thurmastons wasn't good enough for promotion.
Thurmaston finished the 2010-11 season in a respectable 7th place finish. They now have the youngest management paring in the league in
Dan Marshall and Liam East.
