Thomson Reuters Enterprise Platform for Real-Time

Thomson Reuters Enterprise Platform for Real-Time (TREP-RT, colloquially EPRT), is an open market data platform provided by Thomson Reuters. It is used to transport, integrate and manage financial data from stock exchanges and other data sources to end users (such as a bank or enterprise) using multicast or broadcast technology.
The underlying protocols typically deployed with the infrastructure are called Reuters Reliable Control Protocol (RRCP) and the Reuters Reliable Messaging Protocol (RRMP).
The latest version of TREP-RT, version 2 allows customers to cache, control and manage data from all endpoints of their infrastructure. As a cornerstone of this technology, Reuters Wire Format (RWF) is the premier messaging format. Conversion to and from older messaging formats like Marketfeed (MF) used in RMDS version 6 and prior technologies like Triarch as well as SASS2 and SASS3 over Rendezvous (RV) TIB allows the customer to support applications with many requirements.
Major components of the platform include Advanced Data Hub (ADH) and the Advanced Distribution Server (ADS). These components configured together create a basic TREP-RT deployment.
Typically deployed with this messaging platform is DACS
This platform replaces Thomson Reuters Market Data System (TRMDS), colloquially known as RMDS.
The platform creates a large ecosystem of applications and management systems that deal with the data delivered across this infrastructure. From newest to oldest, these APIs include :
Strategic & Maintenance :
* UPA : Ultimate Performance API ( C )
* RFA : Robust Foundation API ( C++, Java, .NET: Q1 2012)
* SFC : Software Foundation Classes ( C++, COM, Java )
Legacy :
* SSL : Sink Source Library ( C++ )
Classic - Withdrawn from Sale :
* SDK Classic Edition 4.0.X : Software Development Kit ( C++ )
