THIS™ Brand Name Clothing is an American clothing line, which markets Tie-dyed apparel including T-shirts, golf shirts, cargo pants, and jeans History Founded in Manhattan, New York, in 1989 by Scott Lombard and Buddy Jackson, the company is a subsidiary of THIS™ Fashion. They produce a variety of sportswear, outerwear, T-shirts, hats, bling jewelry and active wear. The company name was conceived by Scott Lombard, a former fashion model who created the name almost on accident. Back in the early part of 1989, he started a new job with NYNEX and on his first day, he was wearing a pair of Guess jeans which he realized may not have been appropriate for a job out in the field. So he removed the tag, and was struck with the idea: "Guess what I'm wearin'? ... I'm wearin' THIS™". He and his close friend Buddy Jackson started out in New York, but moved the company to Coppell, Texas. There they were able to obtain help from Scott's family in the production of THIS™ Brand Clothing - For Egomaniacs Only! Several THIS™ Brand Clothing Labels were attached to various secondhand shirts and pant designs and sold in several Dallas Boutiques. The early label was a script version trying to appeal to The Stylistics crowd. After that they moved out west to Los Angeles, which has a one of the biggest textile industries. Current The line is manufactured near downtown Los Angeles in the garment district, and all the Tie Dyes are hand-made including pattern detailing.
