Thinxtra is an Australian company that deploys an Internet of Things network based on Low-Power Wide-Area Network (LPWAN) technology in Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia. Thinxtra was founded in June 2015. Thinxtra’s network is based on Sigfox technology that connects low cost, low energy and long range devices on its network. Sensors such as electricity, humidity, temperature and movement metering, geolocation can be connected to the network. Devices usually send data to base stations that are then transferred onto Sigfox internet of things platform and can be redirected to any platform via API. The sensing devices are identified on Sigfox gateway through their ID and PAC address. The Sigfox network covers or is in the process of covering 24 countries. Thinxtra has raised $11 million in capital in the series A, with Rakon as a main investor. Recently, Thinxtra has put a great deal of efforts into developing end-to-end solutions for its customers. It is now expanding in South East Asia in this regard. Thinxtra has opened subsidiaries in Melbourne, Perth, Auckland and Hong Kong in the course of its worldwide expansion.
