The Wish You Weres

The Wish You Weres are an American punk rock band formed in 2004 in Paducah, Kentucky by former members of the now-defunct band The Llamas. The band quickly garnered a large and extremely loyal regional following and fanbase. The band has been featured on numerous punk rock media outlets and recently toured internationally.

Music
The Wish You Weres play an upbeat and in your face form of punk rock. Their lyrics are about day to day life and the struggles and triumphs it brings. They have been described as "difficult to describe, label, or sub-genre" and simply stated that they have a brand of music that you can "listen to anytime, anywhere, all day long."

The band has garnered a huge regional fanbase that has been likened to the startup of Metallica, with fans traveling for hours to hear them though they receive virtually no mainstream attention. The band's likeness and logos have been applied to jackets and tattoos nationwide and have been called by members of this loyal fanbase the "greatest living punk band."

In late 2007, Rolling Stone Magazine placed the band's album Left 4 Dead as one of the top 10 Real Punk Records of the Year.

Controversy
Members of the band are known to be equally as loyal to their fans as their fans are to them, and have ran into trouble when they have refused to play or stop playing if they felt that their fans were treated unfairly. During the 2007 Paducahpalooza performance, the band stopped not only their performance, but the entire festival when member Kid Corruption noticed fan members being accosted by security personnel. Months later at a hotel venue in Paducah, KY the band continued playing after hotel management attempted to stop the show, going so far as to play without mics and in the dark. The incident started when a fan was kicked out for crowd surfing.

Since its formation, the band has had a few different lineups. The band currently consists of Bryan Moore (Guitar/Vocals), Joey Coma (Bass), Josey Juice (Guitar), and Kid Corruption (Drums).
