</noinclude> The Weeping Willows are an Americana/Alternative Country/Folk duo from Melbourne, Australia. Formed in 2010, the duo consists of Laura Coates and Andrew Wrigglesworth. History Laura and Andrew first started playing music together while members of Melbourne Alt-Country band, ‘Lachlan Bryan and The Wildes’. Seeking to branch out and write and perform their own material, Laura and Andrew began performing as a duo under The Weeping Willows name. Their first show was in February 2010 at The Bay Hotel in Mornington, Victoria. The Weeping Willows started recording their debut album ‘Till The North Wind Blows’ in early 2012 with Melbourne producer Roger Bergodaz (Jordie Lane, Tex Perkins, Sweet Jean). The LP comprises 11 original tracks, all composed by Coates and Wrigglesworth and features guest musicians Mathew Duniam, Luke Moller, Steve Hadley and Tommy Detamore. The album was released in December 2012. ‘Till The North Wind Blows’ was well received by Australian reviewers and achieved consistent radio airplay from community radio stations Australia wide. The Weeping Willows' first single ‘Hold On’ reached number 40 status on the CMC Top 50 charts and was a finalist in the 2012 Catapult Song Contest. In late 2013, Laura and Andrew travelled to Nashville, Tennessee after being invited to perform at the 2013 Americana Music Festival & Conference with Sounds Australia.
