The Watchers Series

The Watchers is a series of six fantasy novels written by the American author Deirdra Eden. The series is named after the Watchers mentioned in many religious texts as ethereal beings with supernatural powers. Their duty is to guard and watch over mankind, but as the Book of Enoch mentions, some of these watchers turn bad.
The series chronicles the adventures of a young woman named Auriella (your-ee-L-ah). The name is a feminine form of the archangel, Uriel or Auriel, who is often depicted as having wings of fire and "stands at the Gate of Eden with a fiery sword", or as the angel who "watches over thunder and terror."
The main story arc is Auriella's quest to understand her divine identity, control her dangerous powers and overcome the immortal dark prince, Erebus, and his legion of fallen ones. Though Auriella is living as a human in a medieval setting, she discovers others like her, both good and evil.
