The Wall Project is a charitable initiative of Wesley College, Melbourne and Nuworks which features the premiere musical theatre staging of in June 2009. The musical will be presented by people from the Wesley College and wider Melbourne community who will volunteer their time to h support Habitat for Humanity. It intends to raise $55,000 to help rebuild, enlarge and protect a school in the village of Turabi in Afghanistan. In the final moments of the opera, however, the dramatic wall is torn down, and the audience is left on the threshold of the possibilities that exist within diversity. Pink Floyd's The Wall The intention of the feature theatrical performance is to use a combination of professional, amateur and student artists drawn from the Wesley College Community, both past and present, as well as additional performers from the greater Melbourne area. A minimum fund raising target of $55,000 has been set for the theatrical performances. <ref nameWST/> The upcoming performances will be the first time that the rights and permission of Pink Floyd's The Wall have been granted to organization. <ref nameWST/> The Wall will be performed live at Wesley College's Cato Hall. The Wall Project will capitalize upon the diversity of the Wesley College Community. Performers will include Wesley College alumni such as Waleed Aly and Ashley Zukerman (performer with Melbourne Theatre Company). It will also feature Nehama Patkin, concert piano soloist and an icon within the Melbourne Jewish community; Isabella Dunwill and Laura Brent (graduates of National Institute of Dramatic Art and Victorian College of the Arts).
