The Underwood

The Underwood is a newspaper written by Christopher Kinch, a homeless man and targeted toward Arizona’s homeless community. The newspaper is currently published monthly; however, Kinch hopes to be able to expand that to weekly in the next upcoming months. <ref name=state/> Kinch started writing the paper in April 2009, then called The Arid Ariator. It was named after a local nonprofit organization that provided counseling services. The organization allowed him to use their offices print out the newsletter. He then made cardboard newsstands and placed them around the Central Arizona Shelter Services’ Human Services campus. <ref name=state/> On October 29, 2009, AZ News Channel also dedicated a portion of their newcast for a story on Christopher Kinch and his endeavor with The Underwood during Good Evening Arizona.
