right About The Staff Canteen was originally created by ex-chefs Mark Morris and Derek Woods in October 2007 and was relaunched January 2009 with the aim of creating an online community for chefs in the UK and a website "that caters for all the demands and needs of the modern chef including a network of chefs and food suppliers". The website is notable for being the first to report a number of breaking stories in the UK's hospitality and catering industry, and also for having a number of the UK's leading chefs who contribute to the site via it's forum, including Roux Scholarship winners and Michelin Star holders Simon Hulstone and Matthew Tomkinson, and Michelin Star holder and participant in the BBC's Great British Menu programme, Nathan Outlaw. Through it's forum, The Staff Canteen also runs a number of exclusive competitions, which in the past have included days in the kitchen at prestigous establishments such as Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons, Gleneagles Hotel and Restaurant Nathan Outlaw, as well as exlcusive book competitions.
