The Spiritual Center of the Muslim Communities

| The Spiritual Center of the Muslim Communities was established in 1994. Its structure was based on The Spiritual Direction of the Muslims of Ukraine(SDMU) which was created in 1992. It is located in Donetsk where there is a significant Muslim population as well as an Islamic Cultural Centre. It has branches in 12 different regions of Ukraine. However this group is more Tatar oriented in its membership and aims. The group is headed by Rashid Brahin. In 1997,the group formed a party called Islamic Party of Ukraine or Party of Muslims Of Ukraine. The party remains largely regional based and so far has not made any significant political impact. |
