The sims 2 store

The Sims 2 Store is an online store where players of the PC game The Sims 2 can download content for their game online. It launched in July 2008. EA confirmed in an online chat about upcoming title The Sims 2: Apartment Life that there were no plans for future expansion packs for The Sims 2 but the store would be regularly updated with new content for players.

Content
The Sims 2 Store works on a points system where users purchase a number of points using a credit card to buy objects, clothing, skins and hairstyles for their Sims. The Sims 2 Store edition is a tool used to install the items purchased from the store into player's games. It must be downloaded to use items from the store.

Reception
Players of the game on the official BBS have been widley unimpressed with the store starting numerous petitions against it and claiming it was a very expensive replacement for stuff packs. Players also desire more expansion packs instead of the store.
