The Monday Night Controversy is the name given to the highly controversial final play of an American Football game. The game took place on Monday, September 24, 2012 between the Green Bay Packers and the Seattle Seakhawks at CenturyLink Field in Seattle, WA. The match up took place during the third week of the regular season and both teams entered the match with one win and one loss. The game also took place during a lockout of the standard NFL referees in which replacement referees, some who had worked High School and Junior College games previously were used. John Clayton of ESPN compares the play to the Immaculate Reception.
