The Luminosity Lab

The Luminosity Lab is a student-led research and development think tank located on the Tempe campus of Arizona State University. Overview The Luminosity Lab was founded in 2016 by Dr. Mark Naufel, who was tasked with the project by President Arizona State University, Michael Crow. Fifteens students from multiple disciples were selected for the initial team. A team of students from the Luminosity Lab were among 22 finalists in the Space Robotics Challenge, one of NASA's Centennial Challenges. X-Prize In Summer 2020, Salesforce CEO Marc Beinhoff partnered with CNBC's Jim Cramer and the X-Prize Foundation, an international mask design competition with an overall prize purse of $1 million. A team of five students from the Luminosity Lab were the winners of the X-prize Next-gen Mask challenge, winning $500,000. The team received national and international press coverage and recognition as the result of being named the top mask of the competition. See Also
