The Laurier English and Academic Foundation program

The Laurier English and Academic Foundation (LEAF) program is a program for international students who have enough academic marks to go to university but did not pass the IELTS, TOEFL and so on for the criterion Wilfrid Laurier University set. This program started in 1999 at Laurier Brantford Campus.
System
There are four terms through the year.
*Fall September to December
*Winter January to April
*Spring April to June
*Summer June to August
The student who go to the LEAF first time they need to take placement test to determine which level they need to take.
Levels
There are 5 levels: 1 to 5 and the student must pass level 5 to go to university.
They will take Listening and Speaking, Reading and Vocabulary and Writing and Research. Some level need to take Critical Thinking (level 5), Global Engagement, Grammar (level 4).
Grades
There are participation mark for each course you take. This means how much you participate in the class and student needs to raise the hand if they have question or volunteer to read something and so on.
