The Hart Dance Team was spotted by casting executives at America's Got Talent, after their national championship performance was seen on YouTube The team bypassed the open auditions, and travelled to Hollywood, CA on April 24, 2014 to audition at the Dolby Theatre before the judging panel. The original routine, which was 2:30 minutes, had to be condensed down to 90 seconds. Following the audition the team was visited by an AGT camera crew, as well as AGT judge Mel B. They were then told that they would be bypassing "judgement week" and going straight to the live show performing on the stage of Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
