The India Forum

The India Forum is a digital publication that publishes long-form analysis and commentary on contemporary issues relating mainly to India. The portal offers a range of articles on topics spanning education, climate change, caste, defence, politics and gender, among a host of other issues. It also puts out podcasts and, in an arrangement with Manthan India, published videos of talks.
The India Forum is published by a registered charity, the Vichar Trust, and is published as a non-profit initiative. Its articles are free to read, and it does not carry any advertisement. The India Forum is the first activity of the Vichar Trust.
Background
The India Forum was launched in March 2019. Since then, it has published many articles on current affairs on India's politics, economics, society, sports, and entertainment.
It was funded in the first two years by donations made by well-wishers and trustees. In December 2020, it received a one-year grant from the Independent and Public-Spirited Media Foundation. In January 2021 it received its second one-year grant from the IPSMF. It also received donations from readers with a public appeal for support.
Editorial team
The first Editor of The India Forum is C. Rammanohar Reddy, who was earlier the editor of Economic and Political Weekly.
The editorial team includes Subhash Rai, who is the Digital Editor, C. J. Kuncheria who serves as the Deputy Editor, and Faizi Ahmad (Assistant Editor, Digital).

Reception
The articles published in The India Forum have been well received and have been reprinted in other online publications.
Based on its coverage of Covid-19 in India in the first year, a volume of articles that The India Forum had published in 2020, was published by Orient BlackSwan as a book titled India and the Pandemic: The First Year in 2021.
The Vichar Trust
The Vichar Trust is chaired by Ashok Vajpeyi and its managing trustee is Sujatha Rao. The board of trustees include academics, journalists, former senior officials of the government of India, and members of Non-Government Organizations.
The members currently serving as board of trustees include Faizan Mustafa, G. N. Devy, and T. M. Krishna.
The Vichar Trust is advised by a Council of Advisors which also elects the trustees. Members of the Council of Advisors include Jayati Ghosh, Dolly Kikon, and Apoorvanand.
Members of the Trust and Council of Advisors serve for fixed terms.
