The In-Between (musical)

The In-Between is an upcoming two-act fantasy musical with music, lyrics, book, and orchestrations by Laura Tisdale. It has not yet entered production, but has been fully written, and in 2012, a seven-song concept album was released. It follows the story of a nineteen-year-old named Flick Wimple who falls through a door to parallel worlds. It has been described as a story of love, friendship, and letting go.
Synopsis
Since their parents' death, nineteen-year-old Flick Wimple and her elder sister Alice have had a complicated relationship. Flick is resigned to expect little from life and is determined to give just as little in return.
One day, however, she steps through the wrong doorway and finds herself trapped in a space between worlds, known as the In-Between. There, she meets Guide Calicus, a young man who has spent his life leading people between the worlds. He offers Flick the chance to leave her problems behind and journey to a parallel world. As he leads her through the In-Between, the two form a close bond, causing him to wonder what it would be like to live a life of his own.
But in the In-Between, other Guides are going missing and the walls are beginning to tear. Ultimately, Flick is left with a serious choice: to hold on to her past, her sister and the world she knows, or risk everything to try and save much more.
Concept album
The concept album was released on February 15, 2012, and consisted of seven songs performed by various Broadway and West End stars. Tisdale did all of the orchestrations, original instrumental programming, recording, and mixing for the album herself.
