The Fritz Theater

The Fritz Theater was an experimental theater company in downtown San Diego that existed from 1992-2003, , although it has been kept alive by a few people as a company without a home, producing only 1-2 shows a year.
In its heydey, The Fritz produced 8-10 shows a year, including mainstage productions, an annual festival of new works, known as the Fritz Blitz" late night shows, and dark night shows.
The Fritz ran David Mamet's "Sexuality Perversity in Chicago" as a late night show on Fridays and Saturdays for nearly a decade. It was surpassed by Michael Hemmingson's late night show, "Erotic Scenes in a Cheap Motel Room," the only original Fritz production to go international with 22 other productions in the U.S., Canada, and England.
The company produced the works of David Mamet, Nicky Silver, Suzi Lori-Parks, Melanie Marnich, Mac Wellman, and many others.
