The Electrum Group owns a diversified international portfolio of gold exploration assets, as well as significant interests in several publicly-traded companies, including NovaGold Resources Inc. and Gabriel Resources Ltd., two companies that own several of the largest proven gold resources in the world, Banro Corp., Gold Reserve Inc., Bear Creek and TintinaGold Resources Ltd.
The Electrum Group was founded by Thomas Kaplan in 2001 as an early stage gold exploration company with exploration rights on a global portfolio of more than 100 properties. The exploration company focuses on proven gold provinces, searching for deposits with more than 2-million-ounce gold potential.
