The Datsyuk

In Ice Hockey, the deke called "The Datsyuk" or the "Datsyukian Deke" is a breakaway move made popular by Pavel Datsyuk of the Detroit Red Wings. It is also sometimes called the "double deke". It is where the player will come in on the goaltender at a slight angle (if the player is left-handed, it is more from the right side; if the player is right-handed, then from the left side), then, once he is at about the bottom of the face-off circle, he combines a shoulder and kick fake, effectively combining a fake shot motion causing the goalie to commit to one side of the net, while he then brings the puck back and drags it to his forehand, crossing his skates and scoring in the vacated net. What makes the "Dasyukian Deke'" so effective is the faking of the shot causes the goalie to commit to one side of the net, giving the shooter an easy goal.
