Cools (formerly The Cools) is a search engine for fashion based in New York. In June 2012 it launched under the name The Cools in New York City as a member-only social network allowing its users to buy and sell fashion items as well as art and design. It opened to the public in April 2013. In 2014 it changed name to COOLS.com as it evolved to become the marketplace for high end and contemporary fashion brands. History In June 2012 the marketplace was launched by Olivier van Themsche, a French entrepreneur relocated in New York City. The company raised $2.5 million before the official launch of The Cools from several investors including media mogul Bob Pittman and other angel investors. The members of the advisory board of the company are Fiat heir Lapo Elkann, the LVMH descendant Antoine Arnault and the American fashion designer Erin Fetherston. Every user on The Cools may like items by hitting a “cool” button, upload photos and other contents becoming a public tastemaker who can be followed by others and ultimately sell their products or share products they like. In 2014, The Cools became COOLS and shifted from all kinds of sellers to professional sellers. Brands managed their profile, inventory, prices, posted content and communicated with clients through a public/private wall.<ref name="auto"/> In 2016, COOLS rolled out its affiliation technology which turned the platform into a search engine for fashion aggregating the products from hundreds of retailers and brands in the US
