History
Early Years
After releasing the Sporadic Movements EP under the old name of At the Hands of Machines, the band changed their name to The Contortionist. With this new change came a new sound. They went from worshiping bands like See You Next Tuesday to bands like Emmure and Between the Buried and Me. Under the new name of The Contortionist, they released the Shapeshifter EP. When they released the Shapeshifter EP, The Contortionist's original vocalist, Jake Morris, parted for personal matters. The Contortionist found a new vocalist, Dave Hoffman. Hoffman made a great new match for The Contortionist with the release of the Apparition EP. Apparition defined who The Contortionist wanted to be. People compare the Apparition EP to Between the Buried and Me,
