The company creates paper products using bamboo, rather than wood pulp, and is known for its distinctive brand, and the panda mascot which appears in ads on television and in print. The company was founded in January 2016 by London-based husband and wife team Chris Forbes and Julie Chen. Having cited concerns regarding the impacts of uncertainty caused by the Brexit process, the company has also established a base in France. History The Cheeky Panda has regularly used equity crowdfunding throughout its history, raising an initial £12,785 on Crowdfunder in April 2017, followed by three rounds on Seedrs, raising over £500k in August 2017, £1.6m in May 2019, and £2.4m in April 2020.
