The Bowdoin Cable Network

The Bowdoin Cable Network is a closed circuit cable network on the campus of Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. Channel 41 broadcasts entirely student produced content while channel 40 shows 8 feature films per month, which are voted on by the student body. Alumnus Finn O'Brien founded the station in 1999 with the intention of facilitating the desire of many students to break into the emerging field of video. Since its inception, it has grown considerably. Most notably, it has facilitated the production and distribution of student-made series and films, including several series made by successful media-oriented alumni such as Hari Kondabolu and it has produced BCNews, a weekly news segment covering campus events from the preceding week.
