The black and white tour

The Black and White Tour 2009 is a concert tour which was originally scheduled to be a touring festival in the summer of 2009. However, the founders of the tour, John L. Reese and Music as a Weapon tour founder Jeff Battaglia, decided to postpone the tour until the fall season, due to competing summer tours, such as the Vans Warped Tour, Mayhem Festival, and the return of Blink 182. "Just in time for Halloween!" stated Battaglia. The tour is to feature two stages, The Black Stage and The White Stage. Founders of the tour wanted "loud" and "theatrical" bands on the main stage, while the White Stage showcased both "loud" and "aggressive" bands. Reese was quoted as saying: "Let's face it... some kids go to concerts to have a good time and relax... other kids go to shows like this to dance and go into the pits. We thought it would be smart to showcase the aggressive and harder bands on the stage that will serve on a general admission standing area, in other words, an 'area to move'." It is stated that opening bands will have a 30 minute set. Muse will have a 45 minute set, and headliners My Chemical Romance, The Smashing Pumpkins, and AFI will play for at least an hour.
