The B-Team (professional wrestling)
|
The B-Team was a professional wrestling tag team in WWE consisting of Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel, generally portrayed as lovable losers and comic relief. The duo held the Raw Tag Team Championship once. They were aligned together for the first time in January 2016 as part of the stable The Social Outcasts with Adam Rose and Heath Slater until they were separated in the 2016 WWE draft in July 2016. They were later reunited as The Miztourage in June 2017, acting as The Miz's sidekicks. They turned on Miz in April 2018 when Miz was traded to the SmackDown brand and changed their name to The B-Team during which they won the Raw Tag Team Championship in July 2018. They continued teaming together until October 2019 when the team quietly split. History The Social Outcasts (2016) Dallas and Axel were allied together for the first time on the January 4, 2016 episode of Raw as part of the stable The Social Outcasts with Adam Rose and Heath Slater. Dallas, Axel and Rose helped Slater in winning a match against Dolph Ziggler. Dallas and Axel teamed together for the first time on the January 9 episode of Main Event, losing to The Usos. Dallas and Axel would frequently team with each other throughout the existence of Social Outcasts. Rose was released by WWE on May 23. Dallas, Axel and Slater continued to team together until the trio were separated in the 2016 WWE draft as Dallas and Axel were drafted to the Raw brand and Slater went undrafted. Dallas and Axel continued to team at live events after the draft and also teamed together on the September 10 episode of Raw against Sami Zayn and Neville in a losing effort. The following week, on Raw, Axel helped Dallas in defeating Neville in a match but Dallas attacked Axel after the match. This led to a match between Dallas and Axel on the October 24 episode of Raw, which Dallas won. Axel and Dallas would then trade wins against each other on the November 25 episode of Superstars, the February 10, 2017 episode of Main Event and the March 17 episode of Main Event. The Miztourage (2017-2018) On the June 19 episode of Raw, the Intercontinental Champion The Miz offered to make Dallas and Axel "the stars deserve to be" if they become his entourage. Later that night, the duo accepted the offer by appearing in bear costumes and attacking Miz's rival Dean Ambrose in the ring. They became Miz's entourage and were dubbed the Miztourage on the June 26 episode of Raw, where they teamed with Miz to defeat Ambrose, Heath Slater and Rhyno in a six-man tag team match. Miztourage were mainly used as Miz's sidekicks, assisting him in retaining the title. On the August 14 episode of Raw, Miz and Miztourage lost to Jason Jordan and The Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt) in a six-man tag team match but defeated them in a rematch at SummerSlam. Miztourage would continue to wrestle Miz's rivals Finn Balor, Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman in various matches. In late 2017, Miztourage began feuding with Finn Balor, which led to the formation of Balor Club (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) in early 2018. On the January 1 episode of Raw, Miztourage and Elias lost to Balor and the Balor Club in a six-man tag team match. At Elimination Chamber, Miztourage lost to Balor Club in a tag team match. On the March 12 episode of Raw, Balor Club participated in a battle royal to determine the #1 contenders for the Raw Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 34, which was won by Braun Strowman. On the April 16 episode of Raw, Miztourage teamed with Miz, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in a ten-man tag team match against Bobby Lashley, Bobby Roode, Braun Strowman, Finn Balor and Seth Rollins in a losing effort. During the match, Miztourage turned on Miz, who was traded to the SmackDown brand in the 2018 WWE Superstar Shake-up. The B-Team (2018-2019) After the dissolution of Miztourage, Dallas and Axel lost tag team matches to the team of Finn Balor and Seth Rollins on the April 23 episode of Raw and the Raw Tag Team Champions The Deleters of Worlds (Bray Wyatt and Matt Hardy) on the May 7 episode of Raw. On the May 14 episode of Raw, Dallas and Axel demanded a title shot at the Raw Tag Team Championship from the Kurt Angle and Angle said that Dallas and Axel had previously not won any matches on which they renamed themselves "The B-Team" and said that Miztourage had never won any match but B-Team would win every match. B-Team would consecutively defeat Breezango (Fandango and Tyler Breeze) in two consecutive matches on the May 14 and the May 21 episodes of Raw. On the June 4 episode of Raw, B-Team won a battle royal to become the #1 contenders for the Raw Tag Team Championship, earning a tag team title match against Deleters of Worlds at Extreme Rules, which B-Team won. B-Team successfully defended the titles against Deleters of Worlds on the July 16 and July 23 episodes of Raw. Bleacher Report described the success achieved by the team as "a poor excuse of an attempt by WWE to take tag team wrestling seriously".
