The 99 Cent Family

The 99 Cent Family is a play written by Iman Khamoushian and Fariborz Davoodian and opened on November 21, 2004. The play was an international success and toured for over four years and had 97 performances.
Characters
*Massoud Tehrani: Head of the household, Massoud is the owner of a small 99 cent store. His dream has always been to make it big in America as an entrepreneur. But with his old country ways, he has a very difficult time getting ahead.
*Kami Tehrani: Massoud's son who works for the family business, against his own will that is.
*Fariba: Massoud's wife. She pretty much wears the pants in the house, without Massoud's knowledge of course.
*Mamman Joon: Fariba's mother and Massoud's mother-in-law
*Danielle: Kami's new American girlfriend
Productions
The original play opened at Stivelman Theatre on November 21st, 2004, and closed October 18th, 2007 after 97 performances. The play starred David Diaan as Massoud Tehrani, Iman Khamoushian as Kami, Sudi Yazdi as Mamman Joon and Roxana Rastegar as Fariba.
The play began its first revival in fall of 2013.
