The 4th Reich is a war horror film written and directed by Shaun Robert Smith due for release in 2011. It stars Jason Flemyng, Sean Pertwee, Tom Savini and Doug Bradley amongst others. Production will commence in early 2011 in Europe. A British regiment is exposed to the consequences of the Third Reich’s disease-testing experiments in war torn Europe 1944. Dexter *Trev Preston as SS-Obersturmführer Brandt The Soldier The Soldier - the foundation for The 4th Reich - is a short horror film that was produced from script to screen in 46 hours for the 2 Days Later Short Film Festival and with a budget of £500. Set 13 days after the D-day landings 1944, this short film explores the consequences of the Third Reich's disease testing experiments in Europe. The Soldier went on to win the contest scooping 4 awards on the night Best Film, Best Cinematography, Best Visual Effects, Best Edit and a nomination for Best Sound. The idea was conceived by director Shaun Robert Smith as a student project in 1998 titled AWOL to Horror a horror film about test experiments during the Vietnam War. Smith then went on to direct the incomplete The Twitching Dead which would eventually lead to the feature film. The film was short listed for the London Short Film Festival and a nomination for the ‘Dead by Dawn’ award. In December 2007 The Soldier was featured on You Tube's home page and gained 10,000 hits in one week. Now over 70,000 hits The Soldier continues to impress and has sparked much anticipation for the feature. The short film The Soldier can be viewed on varying sources across the internet.
