Teuchters Cricket Club is a cricket club based in the Edinburgh district of Leith, Scotland. It was originally founded as a team of pub regulars from Teuchters bar in the West End in 2005. Under the leadership of Richie Bartsch, a barman at the afore-mentioned establishment, who happened to be a member of , the band of drinkers and bar-staff also joined SMRHCC and became the players of the ailing 4th XI. After the 3rd XI folded, the 4th XI was disbanded and 'Teuchters' moved to become the 3rd XI. Eventually, the split personality of the club became unworkable, and at an EGM in October 2009, Teuchters Cricket Club was officially brought into being, and the decision was taken to enter into the East of Scotland Cricket Association league system, starting as is required, in Division 8. Teuchters now play their league cricket at Teuchters Academy, in the shadow Easter Road Stadium the home of Hibernian F.C.. Honours ESCA Division 8 Runners-up (1): 2010 ESCA Activcity President's Plate Semifinalists (1): 2011 2010 Season Officially, Teuchters Cricket Club made its debut in league cricket on Saturday 24 April 2010, against Kismet CC 2nd XI in ESCA Division 8. In order to get around the difficulty and financial impediments with buying a ground in Edinburgh, TCC had negotiated a ground-share arrangement with Leith FAB Cricket Club, and so for 2010 called Leith Links home. It was on this historic ground that Teuchters hosted the Dunfermline side. It resulted in a defeat, but it was a small blemish on a year of success for TCC. Several of the players were featured in the national press after they made over 400 runs against Murrayfield DAFS 4th XI, with Richie Bartsch starring with an unbeaten double hundred. They lost just one more league game that year, against another Dunfermline side, and beat the champions Morton CC 2nd XI on the final day of the season to secure promotion. It was during the off-season that the Teuchters committee began actively seeking a new ground, and after some negotiations with the highly cooperative administrators of Leith Academy, a deal was struck that saw TCC move to the Academy for the opening of the 2011 season. 2011 Season Having been promoted, Teuchters embarked on their campaign to conquer ESCA Division 7, playing their first game at Teuchters Academy by coincidence against Kismet CC 2nd XI, who were promoted along with them. This time, "The Club from the Pub" were victorious by 98 runs, in a game particularly memorable for a spectacular catch taken by Kieran O'Shaughnessy. This set the tone for the season as Teuchters have suffered just one defeat in the league to date, and currently sit atop ESCA Division 7.
