Terri Reid, an American, is the author of the Mary O'Reilly paranormal mystery series. Originally and still published as Amazon Kindle and Barnes & Noble Nook ebooks, and now beginning to become available in paperback, the series sold 60,000 ebooks in its first year of publication. In October 2010, three months after its publication, "Loose Ends," the first book in the series, was ranked higher on the Amazon best seller list of Horror Mysteries than Stephen King's and eventually reached first place. Currently, in October 2012, Reid ranks 19 in the Amazon Mysteries best seller author list, above Robert Parker and M.C. Beaton. The lead character in the series is Mary O'Reilly, a former Chicago police officer, who, after a near death experience, finds that she can see and talk to ghosts. Now living in a nearby small town, she uses her paranormal abilities to solve crimes. Her romantic and investigative partner is Bradley Alden, the local chief of police. As of October 2012, there are eight books in the series, in order: "Loose Ends," "Good Tidings," "Never Forgotten," "Final Call," "Darkness Exposed," "Natural Reaction," "Secret Hollows," and "Broken Promises." Reid lives in Illinois on a farm with her husband and children.
