Joseph Oshana

Joseph "Joe" Oshana (born July 7, 1988) is an underground Chicago magician who currently attends Loyola University. He is most famous for his free public shows that he conducts anywhere he sees fit.
Early Life
Joseph Oshana was born in Elgin, Illinois to an Assyrian family. Both of his parents are employed at a factory .At a young age he displayed his ability to captivate an audience through his illusions, stage presence, and charisma. At family events he would always be the center of attention, something which he thrived upon. He attended Elgin High School. While at Elgin High his career began to garner some attention from local media outlets. Despite his local success, Oshana almost turned his back on the performing arts due to constant teasing and bullying. He was often called derogatory names and his peers regularly insulted him. He credits his mentor, Owen Brittan, with saving his career by giving him constant encouragement. It was not until one of his performances at the high school talent show, covered by a local television station, that his peers were awed by his terrifying magical abilities and the teasing stopped due to fear. The show saw the debut of his human separation trick in which he physically pulled a faculty member's torso apart from her waist. He now attends Loyola University-Chicago where he will graduate in 2010 with a degree in Biology. He is currently the vice president of Sigma Pi Fraternity International . He is currently working an a new television show to air on Bravo to show his magical abilities to the world. Look for the premier May 15th 2010.
Shows
Throughout his career he has often performed free shows for the public in order to garner more publicity. On cold winter days he can be seen riding the Chicago 'L' and cheering up the passenger with his levitation tricks. In the summer Oshana camps out in any one of the Chicago parks or playgrounds and performs for the children and public.
He is also quite popular on the state fair circuits. He has appeared to date at the Kansas, Illinois, Nebraska, Tennessee, Ohio, Michigan, and Missouri state fairs.
Tricks
A child prodigy, Oshana has been performing levitation tricks he is most popular for since the age of 7. These include levitating himself, a styrofoam cup, cars, spectators and any sort of musical playing device. His other most famous trick is the ability to grow facial hair right before the audiences eyes . This trick has caused a huge stir amongst the rest of the magic community due to the undiscoverable secret behind it. David Blaine, Criss Angel, and David Copperfield among others have all tried and failed to discover the secret behind it.
