Terence winch

Terence Winch is an American writer and the author of five books.
Personal life
As the son of Irish immigratns, Winch grew up in a Bronx immigrant neighborhood. Though a native New Yorker, he now resides in Washington D.C. where is he considered to be one of D.C.'s "mass transit" poets.
Professional life
Winch's book, Irish Musicians/American Friends, won an American Book Award. Additionally, That Special Place: New World Irish Stories draws on experiences as a founding member of the acclaimed Irish band Celtic Thunder. His work has been included in the Oxford Book of American Poetry, three Best American Poetry collections, and has been featured on "The Writer's Almanac" and NPR's "All Things Considered." Winch is the recipient of an NEA Fellowship in poetry, among other awards.
