Tentblogging

Tentblogging or "Digital Tentmaking", in general, refers to the activities of any Christian who supports themselves and their ministries (proper or individual) through online mediums such as blogs. One could consider this the digital form of tentmaking. This term does not necessarily require the person to be a evangelical Christian but rather someone who earns money (partial or full time income) through their blog or online websites.
History
Typical avenues of income generation is in the form of direct advertising, product sales, services, affiliate marketing, and a wide variety of professional consulting. The idea and focus is less on the specific activity that generates income (both directly or indirectly) but rather the practice of using blogs and digital tools (like Twitter to provide the traffic necessary to convert opportunities into sales and money-making results.
Both the professional minister and layman can be a "TentBlogger" or Digital Tentmaker by simply using their online tools to generate additional income outside their full time capacity and roles. There is no denominational or theological requirement for being a TentBlogger or Digital Tentmaker.
