TemplateMonster

TemplateMonster is a New York based company working in a web design field in a niche of website templates production.
The company was founded in 2002 by Artvertex Inc., initially as a subdivision of InverseLogic. Artvertex currently also has a number of other subsidiary companies in web design industry. Nowadays TemplateMonster offers a variety of services including web design, hosting packages, domain names and an affiliate program.
History
* May 2002 - company founded by Artvertex and a former junior partner from InverseLogic David Braun, who holds a CEO position ever since.
* November 2004 - the company starts offering ready-made affiliate shops within its white-label affiliate program.
* June 2005 - TemplateMonster partners with AbsolutVision to offer free stock images to the customers purchasing website templates.
* Summer 2006 - Corbis sues TemplateMonster for copyright infringement. On July 6, a judge granted a preliminary injunction ordering the site to take down all the images owned by Corbis which has led to TemplateMonster signing the agreement with Fotolia as their stock photo partner in August 2006.
* September 2007 - TemplateMonster signs the partnership agreement with Getty Images. According to this agreement:
:"Jetimpex, Inc., a main contributor to www.TemplateMonster.com, its affiliates and resellers, announced that it has entered into an agreement and license with Getty Images regarding the past and future use of images owned or represented by Getty Images. The parties have resolved issues of past usage of Getty Images' photographs found at www.TemplateMonster.com, its affiliates and resellers. In addition, Jetimpex, Inc. has entered into a license to download and distribute Getty Images wholly-owned Royalty Free (RF) images through www.TemplateMonster.com, its affiliates and resellers."
* September 2009 - TemplateMonster signs the agreement with MotoCMS (formerly known as FlashMoto) to become an exclusive design partner for Moto Flash CMS. In October 2009 TemplateMonster's first Flash CMS templates have appeared.
* December 2009 - TemplateMonster enters a partnership with Microsoft and launches a line of Silverlight Products.
Controversies and Criticism
In 2006 TemplateMonster was sued by Corbis for copyright infringement because of the images included into TemplateMonster products. After the settlement, TemplateMonster has signed an agreement with Fotolia and later on with Getty Images.
Despite the official agreement with Getty Images, TemplateMonster customers sometimes receive copyright claims from Getty. In cases like that TemplateMonster's legal representatives handle Getty's statements.
