Teena Strickler Bowers

Teena Strickler Bowers (January 19, 1960) is an American Landscape Photographer of popular realistic, pastoral, and idyllic subjects. Strickler-Bowers is notable for capturing the "soul of the Appalachia" according to the Cumberland Times News. It has been said that "T. Strickler Bowers is the Vivian Maier of mountain landscapes, an unknown gem."
In 2015, when Strickler Bowers was in her '50s she entered her first National photographic competition at the Allegany Arts Council in Cumberland, MD. The juror was Kenneth Garrett a photographer for National Geographic Magazine and frequent exhibitor at the Smithsonian Institution. Strickler Bowers had more photographs accepted into the contest than any other photographer.
She is a self-taught artist with a natural eye for good compositions. "My interest in photography began while at Bruce High School with a 35 mm Manual Vivitar and 3 lenses. It is only within the last few years that I have become obsessed to an even MORE degree than before. I cannot leave the house without my camera. Where I go, it's goes. My current camera is a Panasonic Lumix DMC fz200." said T. during the reception at the Allegany Arts Council.
