Teddy the War God

Teddy the War God (a.k.a. Teddy Wargod) is the Audie Murphy Platoon of the United States Army; 3rd Platoon, Baker Company, Task Force 1-15 Infantry, 3rd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, .
History
In April 2007, while on one of the platoon's first dismounted patrol of OIF V in , Iraq, SSG Marion Brawley (Second-Squad Leader) and (Platoon Medic) found a doll head lying in a pile of dirt on an unimproved road. Dirty and without hair or eyes, the two soldiers decided to keep the toy and use it as a mascot. They began thinking of names for the mascot and SSG Brawley came up with "Teddy." Doc Bell contested that the name "Teddy" seemed pusillanimous, but the moniker remained. Given the unit's rich deployment history, they decided that Teddy would be their God of War.
Upon return from that mission the platoon began lobbying to change its nickname from the MadDawgs to the War Gods. On July 2007 3rd Platoon Baker Company officially became the War Gods.
A favorite among the kids of the Mada'in Qada and Salman Pak regions of Iraq, as well as the leadership of the unit, Teddy was with the platoon on every single mission during OIF V, having been carried by SSG Brawley, Doc Bell, , and many others in the platoon, until they returned home from Iraq in May 2008.
