Taunton Fire Department

The Taunton Fire Department is a municipal fire department run out of the City of Taunton, Massachusetts. It is a member of the PFFM and International Association of Fire Fighters (Local 1391). Currently, the department operates five stations in each of the city's main districts. The department does not provide its own EMS services. Its contractor, American Medical Response, is assisted at every 911 call by an engine from the city.
Protocol
*For every 911 call: an engine from the nearest available house is dispatched.
*Medical emergency: 1 engine
*Minor MVA: 1 engine
*Serious MVA: 1 or 2 engines, Rescue, Car 2
*Box alarm: 2 engines, 1 ladder, Rescue, Car 2
*Box alarm at a school, hospital, or other predesignated "high risk" building: 3 engines, 1 ladder, Rescue, Car 2
*Structure Fire: 3 engines, 1 ladder, Rescue, Car 2 Once the fire has been confirmed, Car 1 is notified and mutual aid may be called in.
Central Station
Central covers the dowtown area of Taunton. It houses the city's 911 system and well as Taunton Fire Dispatch. The Central Fire Station holds the following apparatus:

*Engine 22 (spare)
Weir Fire Station
Weir Fire Station covers the Weir district of Taunton. The Weir Station holds the following:
*Engine 3
*Ladder 3
Bay St. Station
Bay St. covers the Whittenton village of Taunton. It holds the following:
*Engine 4
*Dive Truck
Oakland Station
The Oakland Station covers the Oakland Village of Taunton. It houses the maintaince division of the department. Oakland hold the following:
*Engine 5
*Ladder 2
*Engine 21 (spare)
*Field Communications 10 (provided through the state)
*S.A.F.E. Trailer (fire education and safety)
East Taunton Fire Station
East Taunton Fire Station covers the East Taunton district including the Silver City Galleria. It holds:
*Engine 9
*Forestry
