Tapology

Tapology is an online social network devoted to the sport of mixed martial arts ("MMA"). The site features user-generated content, including fight predictions, fighter and bout rankings, and MMA related discussion, as well as aggregate data concerning its online community and the sport of MMA. Users enter predictions and rankings via a series of sport-specific graphical user interfaces connected to an online forum for discussing mixed martial arts news and entertainment. The site launched publicly on October 10, 2010.
Tapology also features an information database of professional MMA fighters, matchups and events, with an emphasis on past and former large and middle-tier MMA promotions, most notably the Ultimate Fighting Championship ("UFC"), as well as the World Extreme Cagefighting ("WEC"), Pride Fighting Championships, Strikeforce, Bellator Fighting Championships, Dream, Affliction and EliteXC banners.
MMA Rankings
Tapology maintains consensus mixed martial arts rankings in a total of twenty five categories. Tapology rankings differ in methodology from MMA rankings released by major North American online MMA news sources, including, inter alia, Sherdog.com, MMAWeekly.com, BloodyElbow.com, and MMAjunkie.com, all of which are editorial and periodical in nature. By contrast, Tapology rankings are computed automatically based upon individual member rankings submitted by its site users and are not subject to editorial decisionmaking. Tapology consensus rankings are also computed anew upon submission of each individual member ranking, resulting in consensus rankings generally less than 24 hours old. The consensus rankings are:
