Tanvir Hassan Zoha

Tanvir Hassan Zoha is a Bangladeshi citizen best known for his activities in the aftermath of the 2016 Bangladesh Bank heist. Since 2014, Zoha was a frequent face on few local TV channels and newspapers that presented him as a Cyber Security Expert, a high-ranked officer at the ICT Division, Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications & Information Technology, Bangladesh and/or a high-ranked officer in the local Police force. In several occasions, he appeared in public with hand-held two-way radios that are usually restricted for the local law enforcement agencies. In the aftermath of the 2016 Bangladesh Bank heist, Zoha attended several TV talk shows and spoke with the journalists on the investigation of the crime, presenting himself as a high-ranked official at the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Division in the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications & Information Technology of Bangladesh. However, on 14 March 2016, the ICT Division, Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications & Information Technology, Bangladesh issued a media statement denying any link with Zoha. In that media statement, the ICT Division, Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications & Information Technology, Bangladesh also mentioned that Zoha was presenting multiple fake identities to the public media for quite some time.
From the early morning of 16 March 2016, Zoha went missing. After having been missing for nearly a week, he was found near the Airport Railway Station by police on 22 March 2016. They returned him to his home. Since then, he had been avoiding journalists and did not make any comment on the media statement of ICT Division, Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications & Information Technology, Bangladesh.
