In the summer of 2004, Walle recorded his first full-length album, It Was, with producer/engineer Robert Rebeck at Chapman Studios in Kansas City. It Was was not immediately successful, but has had continuous sales in the U.S., Europe and Japan.
In the spring of 2005, Walle began writing and recording his second record The Future of Tape with DJNOTADJ member Jerett Fulton. Fulton's recording studio Mixtape Soundlab hosted their collaborative efforts until the spring of 2007 when they released the album on Mixtape Meditation Records. Their CD release was held at the Granada Theater in Lawrence, KS on March 2, 2007.
In the summer of 2007, Walle again relocated to New York City and now resides in Brooklyn.

In Winter 2010, Walle held a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to release his third studio album. The campaign, titled "What's Tanner Walle's Shelf Life?", help initiate the project financially. In April 2011, Walle and his band began recording at Vel Records in Dumbo, Brooklyn as well as at 37' Productions in Rockland, MA. Throughout the summer of 2011, Walle maintained both a team effort and a DIY approach, interacting with his Kickstarter backers through video and audio updates.
"Shelf Life" was released on February 7th, 2012 to all major digital outlets. In conjunction with the release of the record, Walle held a charity event for Education Through Music, a non-profit organization promoting the integration of music into the curricula of disadvantaged schools in order to enhance students' academic performance and general development. Walle chose the charity, in part, because of his involvement in elementary education during his time in Phoenix, AZ.
